The New York State Bar Association was founded in 1876. Since then, it’s created several smaller organizations which help it as a whole. One of those organizations is the Lawyer Referral and Information Service (LRIS). The LRIS was founded to help New Yorkers find the right lawyer during times of stress.
The LRIS was founded 35 years ago. It’s helped tens of thousands of New York residents find the legal help they needed. In 2016, the LRIS trained its staff to handle 10,000-plus phones calls from the public. In addition to their phone service, the LRIS recently launched a new online portal service.
The online service further aids New Yorkers during their times of legal stress. It’s a more convenient and easier way to find an attorney. Searching for a lawyer individually is difficult. Using one of the LRIS’s services guarantees that they’ll get a qualified attorney.
The new online service isn’t just helpful for New Yorkers; it also benefits lawyers. Many lawyers with small practices have difficulty finding new clients. This new service offers carefully screened clients with online technology, making it easier for attorneys to expand their clientele. Elena Jaffe Tastensen, a Saratoga Springs attorney, said the LRIS’s new service has helped grow her practice.
Jeremy Goldstein, of Jeremy L. Goldstein & Associates, is another lawyer benefiting from the new service. Jeremy Goldstein founded his law firm shortly after leaving Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen, & Katz. His firm offers executive compensation and corporate governance advice to compensation committees, CEOs, management teams, and corporations.
Jeremy Goldstein became one of the foremost authorities on executive compensation and corporate governance. He’s even listed as one of the leader executive compensation lawyers in Chambers USA Guide to America’s Leading Lawyers.
